The assignment
A new tool for the WeTransfer ecosystem
For this assignment, WeTransfer has tasked us, students, with designing a digital tool for creative professionals. While WeTransfer is primarily known for its platform for sending digital files, the company is much more than that. Within its products, WeTransfer focuses on creative professionals, aiming to support them in inspiring, conceptualizing, sharing, and delivering their work.
The problem space
Physical work, digital world
During the peak of the pandemic, we discovered that many creatives who operate in the physical space were encountering challenges when it came to presenting their work effectively. We recognized the need for a tool that could assist them in showcasing their creations.
Furthermore, WeTransfer primarily caters to creative professionals who work in the digital realm, leaving creative professionals who primarily work in physical mediums underrepresented in a world that suddenly became largely digital.
Inspired by the idea of bridging this gap in the creative world, we set out to provide "physical creatives" with a digital stage.
The concept
Setting the Stage
Stage is a tool that allows you to easily share your physical creations online. With Stage, you can share your work on your preferred media platform and quickly add a 3D model to it, which interested parties can also view in their own environment through AR.
WeTransfer has developed various products that take place in a digital medium, catering to creative professionals who work digitally. However, there are plenty of creatives who create their work in the physical world, and for them, integrating and sharing this work on digital media is more challenging. Stage addresses this aspect of the creative process.
